Happy Christmas!

Category: General Updates

Hey guys,

Seems like Christmas is now here - we’ve got the decorations up, ET is on TV and Alexandra Burke just got her first number one single (and a Christmas number one at that) with her version of Hallelujah.

Last week, I wasn’t really ready for Christmas - it didn’t feel like Christmas and it seemed like it has came round too quickly this year. Now? I’m looking forward to it, but I’m looking forward even more to 2009. I want to make 2009 my best year yet; among other things, my main goals are to get my businesses moving and to start earning some REAL money, to get back into basketball shape now my finger is healed (long story :P) and my other one is to start recording music with my friend (you better be reading this, Alex!).

So, I guess you could say those are my New Years Resolutions - they’re a bit different to the average New Years Resolution of “I’m going to stop eating chocolate” but, they’re perfect for me, and, I hope I stick to them and make them happen.

Oh yeah, and I’m also going to blog more (I promise!). Oh, and I’ve sorted the spam problem…hopefully :P.

Till the next time,
Ross

The death of AdSense

Category: Random Stuff

Hey guys,

Just dropping by to let you know about something I’ve come across - it’s from John Thornhill, the eBay powerseller who has dominated the eBook industry for the past few years. For those of you who know eBooks, you’ll know that the reason they can be sold for such a cheap price is because they contain affiliate links, which earn the eBook author money. Well, using his knowledge on this subject, John has teamed up with one of his friends to come up with a new advertising system that could quite possibly kill Google AdSense. It’s name? ClickBank Ad Rotator.

Anyone that uses AdSense will know that it takes a very long time to build any profit up due to the clicks you get paid for being so lowly paid; this is where John’s new system comes in - it uses ClickBank, which is “the online retail outlet for over 10,000 digital product publishers and their 100,000 active affiliates”, according to their website.

If you’re a member at ClickBank, and you link somebody to a ClickBank-listed product using your affiliate link, and then the person that clicks the link purchases the product, you get paid a percentage of the profit, which is set by the seller. Some payouts, for just one purchase, can be as much as $175!

So, how is ClickBank involved in John’s new system? Well, it works like AdSense - you put a code anywhere you like on your website, just like AdSense, and depending on the keywords you set, different ClickBank products are displayed on your page. So, for example, if your page is based around the Nintendo Wii, you would enter the keyword “Nintendo Wii” and a Wii related ClickBank product, such as this, would be displayed. If a visitor to your site then clicked the link and made a purchase, you would be paid 65% of the sale, which is $29.26! That’s just for ONE sale!

How long would it take you to earn $29.26 with AdSense? A long time I bet. Whereas here, one click and you have $29.26, that’s just for this sale - like I said before, some sales will earn you $175!

Do the smart thing and get started right now with the ClickBank Ad Rotator - click here!

Stop trying to earn with AdSense, it’s not going to work, sign-up with ClickBank Ad Rotator now!

Till the next time,
Ross.

MHPF Update…

Category: General Updates

Hey guys,

Just here with a quick update on My Homepage Friends. After a few months being signed up with these guys, with about a month of that not using the search engine due to computer problems and my holiday, I have £34.77 waiting for me, which is about $70. £9.70 (about $20) of that is from my referrals’ searches, while the other £25.07 (about $50) is from my own searches.

I was quite surprised when I checked it, as they have now updated the payment summary page so it shows you the referral earnings and mine added together - once again, not bad for a few months of just searching! I also think that if I didn’t have computer problems/go on holiday, I’d have about £50 or more waiting for me in my account.

This is definitely worth doing guys - remember, there is no sign-up fee or cost of any kind; everything is 100% free! If you’re not yet signed up, click here to start earning today!

Till the next time,
Ross.

Ross’ Rants: I’m fed up with fake goods

Category: Ross' Rants

Ross’ Rants is a new feature I am bringing to the site - it’s basically going to be a place I can vent about things that annoy me, whether it’s on topic or not with the blog.

So, for my first rant, I’m going to talk about fake goods. They really annoy me; I’ve been trying to get hold of basketball clothing but almost every single supplier is from China, who sell “very good replica’s” or “almost the same” goods. It’s starting to annoy me - I want to be selling real basketball clothing, and so does the law, but it’s made very hard for me when companies like Nike and Adidas turn me away or make the application process long and difficult to sell their goods. If they want to stop people selling fake goods, it might be an idea to make real goods a little easier to get hold of.

I sent an application to Nike (I’m still awaiting a reply) and didn’t bother with Adidas as they have a rather high sales target for each year - if you’re just starting out selling clothing, who knows how it will go?

Anyway, I’ll update you if anything happens…rant over for now :P.

Till the next time,
Ross.

Guess who’s back?

Category: General Updates

Yep, me!

I guess some of you are wondering where I’ve been…well, I’m gunna keep it short, basically:

  1. I went on holiday/vacation as I said before, but on the Queen Mary 2 (which was amazing!) the Internet was very expensive due to their own dedicated satellite being ran for their Internet connection or something, so I didn’t end up using it. Then, once in The States, I really only had time to check vital things like e-mails as I was busy all the time, therefore I didn’t make any posts here.
  2. When I got back, I had the whole virus situation to sort…I ended up getting all my most needed files, scanning them for any infections, and then I burnt them onto CD’s and reset the PC to factory settings - I just had enough with trying to sort the virus and needed to get on with work. Hopefully, I’ve learnt from the whole “eh, I’ll back-up later” thing and I’ll back-up much more regularly now.
  3. Now I’m out of education and the summer has ended, I really have needed to start earning some money, so most of my time has been put into promoting my websites and creating new ones (which you’ll see soon).

So, yeah, that’s basically where I’ve been - I’m going to really try to post more often now, so make sure you bookmark this baby!

P.S. I have been informed that the RSS feed for this blog isn’t working; I’ll try and sort it out pronto.

Till the next time,
Ross.

“Where have you been?”

Category: General Updates

I’m guessing that some of you are wondering where I have been…well, my PC, which holds all my work (which is not backed up) has a virus and has done for quite some time. I’ve been trying to fix it every day, but so far I’ve had no luck.

Right now, I’m on my laptop, while I pack my bags for my holiday (vacation) - I’m going to be gone for 2 weeks. I’m going on a cruise from Southampton, England to New York City on the Queen Mary 2…I just hope that the weather gets a little better as right now the Atlantic is looking pretty rough! Then, after a few days in New York, I’m flying down to Las Vegas for a few days. Hopefully, I’ll be able to blog a little about that, so make sure you check the blog out daily!

I’ll deal with the virus when I get back; if one good thing comes out of this, I’ve learnt that I need to have a better PC security and back up my work! If I lose all my work I don’t know what I’ll do.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a quick update and I’ll hopefully blog to you within the next few days from the middle of the Atlantic!

Till the next time,
Ross.

So, what’s this “big” thing you mentioned?

Category: General Updates

So, a few days ago I said there would be “something big coming up”. Due to problems such as finding a suitable domain that hasn’t already been registered I’ve been slightly delayed. However, the site SHOULD be up tomorrow. I’ll make a post about it then.

MY HOMEPAGE FRIENDS UPDATE
Okay, here’s a quick update on My Homepage Friends. So far, since July 8th when I made the first post about this system, I have earned £12.68 ($25.26) just through searching the internet like I normally would. I also have 62 referrals under me which is quite promising, with most of them coming from my Google Adwords adverts.

It really is worth signing up for this system and then getting your friends to do the same. It’s money for free; who can say no to that? Click here to sign up and start earning today!

Till the next time,
Ross.
